Neglect

I have not purposely been neglecting my blog and blog-hopping lately, but have found it increasingly hard to juggle my time between blogging, Facebook and several forums I am on.  I was worried that this would happen when I joined FB just before Christmas.  The advantage of FB is that it is relatively fast to catch up and stay current with others.  As a consequence though,  when I visit my blog, I often don't feel like I have the energy to post or follow all the blogs I do enjoy reading.

I'm really feeling like the computer is taking up way too much of my time (i.e. my studio time has diminished greatly).  I see other artists that happily do blogs, Facebook, studio, housework, events, etc., without seeming to have any problems at all.
Please.....how do you manage this???

On a lighter note, my daughter sent me the following via email this morning.  For my Juno and Finley,
and all the other furry family members out there....
The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door.

Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes on the floor with the paw prints are yours and contain your food The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate does not mean that is is suddenly your food, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the top of the stairs is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It Is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space that you are taking up, is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.

Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door:
TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:

(1) They live here. You don't.
(2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.
(3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:
(1) eat less,
 (2) don't ask for money all the time,
(3) are easier to train,
(4) normally come when called,
(5) never ask to drive the car,
(6) don't hang out with drug-using people;
(7) don't smoke or drink,
(8) don't want to wear your clothes,
(9) don't have to buy the latest fashions,
(10) don't need a gazillion dollars for college and
(11) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children.....(*_*)

I'm sure that so many of us can identify with the above!

P.S.  I think the bathroom statement above is the funniest

That's so funny, Sue! :) And I agree about trying to keep up with blogging, and FB (and etsy) and life. I am not on FB very much. I guess I haven't found my 'groove' there, but I know a lot of bloggers who have jumped ship. Maybe I should join in! ;)) xox Pam

That was my first laugh of the day. I have four cats around here that need to hear that!

I am trying really hard right now to learn how to maintain everything. What usually happens is I get overwhelmed and fall off the face of the planet completely. Not so good! Facebook is nice and easy, but sometimes I really enjoy writing real blog entries.

That is great! Going to forward that to pet owners everywhere! As for the computer stuff, I am in agreement...hardly sewing and spending WAY too much time at the computer. Time to go on a computer "diet"....

I love love love this! Thank you for sharing. It made me laugh out loud :O)
I hear what you are saying about too many forums taking up time.... Only yesterday I made the descision to leave some forums, and return to blog land since I have so many dedicated followers whom I feel guilty for having abandoned. I can also avoid all the recent agression/cat fights that seem to be popping up in other forums. I don't see it in blogland, so I think I will spend my energy here!

First thing...don't think 'THEY' don't have any problems....
I had to take a blog/FB vacation for awhile too. Now I visit FB once in awhile and I'm trying to blog and blog hop more. Abi said it right...cat fights on FB..some people need to grow up. I don't waste my time with them either. Blogging is where 'we' belong anyway:) And although I chose not to have pets anymore (for now) I laughed at this..especially #11
See ya back here soon..or on FB:)

Hi Sue,

The dog/cat rules are soooo funny. Good to hear from you again. I can completely understand getting behind because of FB and the blog. I try to post and follow up in the mornings and evenings. I really enjoy reading others blogs and I do learn many things. I also think I share a lot of my art expertise too. I used to post daily and then it went to weekly and I'm pretty happy with that. It does force me to create more than I might be inclined to do but not always what I want or should be creating.

See you soon, probably here and not on FB since I really only check that out about 2 times a week.

Warm wishes,
Cheryl

Sue, I'm trying to cut back on the computer too...and it is tough to keep up with all the blogs I like to read. ...even if I only post sporadically.

I'm with Abi....I've quit all except Cloth and Clay Dolls site. It seems to be a bunch of doll makers who are just having fun making dolls.

the latest is a storybook character...and if you saw my little head.... it's going to be Rumpelstiltskin...man, that is so tough to spell ...every time I write it I have to check it...

Just did some painting on his head...and now vacuuming and checking mail... see? that;s how it goes with me. Check the computer..stop to send a note..and check something else...and all of a sudden another half or 3/4 of an hour wasted...well,..not always wasted..but, you know what I mean. Here I am writing notes.... hahahhha... ... must look for some fabric for my little man... check my stash....
