STUFFED.....Inspirational Pause #3?

I'm not sure I can call the site, Crappy Taxidermy, an inspirational place to visit - and it may not be to everyone's taste, but it definitely is fascinating.

There are currently 65 pages on this site with multiple submissions of various forms of taxidermy. Some are bizarre, some are inventive, some are just plain BAD. This site is great for those that work in the fantasy realm, as even some of the really bad stuffed critters, could possibly spark an idea. For those that like to create anthropomorphic creatures, again, some good reference on this site.

I have some more sites I've found to share with you over the next few days and then I have to hit the studio and start work. Hubby has been off for vacation this week (and next week), and I've been busy with him. I do think all this web surfing has lured my muse back though..... yaaaaayyy!

Update: When I posted this I had only gone through several pages on the site. I just finished going through the whole site and while I did see some things that I found fascinating (most of it was works by other artists), by the last page I was also feeling rather nauseous. I love animals, and this emotion fought with my quest to find some ideas. As I mentioned at the beginning of this post - the site is definitely not for everyone.

Some are fascinating, but I must admit to being creeped out by some of them. I am so happy to hear you are getting reacquainted with your muse! :)

Glad to hear your muse has returned...mine too...I think maybe I'd been working her too hard...without time for play. The 'art' here reminded me of a little shop I visited somewhere along the famed 49er trail in CA...It was a Pagan shop and one of the things for sale was a cat that had obviously been run over by a car...Not my cup of tea at all...and I still wonder if anyone bought it.
Thanks for taking us on this unusual journey.

So glad to hear your muse has returned! It(she?) probably needed to enjoy a little vacation as well.

I've enjoyed your recent posts, where you've been searching for inspiration. Even something gruesome, like altered dead animals, can spark your creativity. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!

I must say, I'm a bit envious of your trip into Toronto! I absolutely love that city (I lived there as a child, and have visited it again recently - and didn't want to to leave). Your part of the province is so gorgeous, you could drop me anywhere, and I'd be very happy.

Hugs,
Angela

Oh Sue!

That first pic is so creepy . . . and I love it!! It's interesting isn't it how these can be so intriguing and repulsive at the same time?

Thanks for sharing this odd place I'll have to go check it out!!! You know this reminds me of a roadkill cat I bought at a little shop down in the California Mother Lode area. ;)
