I've recently started work on a rather large (and time consuming project) which has limited my computer time abit. Was just taking a break and looking through one of my vintage pic files and some of the images I have collected over the years can only be described as evocative. The one of the Contessa above is my favorite. Here are several more for your viewing pleasure:
lovebirds?
Rapt and wary
just strange
The world on his shoulders
dogamatrix
Mr. Haydon, mid 1850s.....What is his story?

what fascinating images!! thank you for sharing them. :)
Sue! simply beautiful photos - I love them all, but particularly like the love birds! so interesting - wonder where the ideas came from - especially the child with a cig!! crazy!
These are wonderful Sue, I just love trying to figure out what was going on when I come across photos like these !
Mr. Haydon is very handsome but why ob earht was he dressed like that ?? and as for the child,I'm sure that was very amusing in those days, it just shows how much we have changed, and these days it would be a very controversial photo .
Thanks for posting these,

These are awesome and the first one is so captivating. Her eye really draws you in.
Great pictures Sue! I left you an award over at my blog!!
OMG
that smoking, black-eyed little girl is hysterical
the Countess has always been one of my favorite vanity models - she must have kept four photographers' mortgages paid!
Sue now that I take a second look, maybe it is world on his shoulders that I like the best.
