Just Down the Road...

....from our house is this storm drain reservoir area. This stretch of road used to be all farmers' fields, however over the last couple of years, a couple of subdivisions have gone in (yuck). Since a storm drain area was needed, the town planners decided to appropriate quite a large parcel of land, so that once you are walking here, amidst the natural foliage, you can almost forget that suburbia has encroached on this little corner of my world. The sounds of bullfrogs that shelter amongst the bullrushes, the
calls of a large variety of birds, and the rustle of leaves and plants in the breeze is perfect when I want to get away from it all for
a short time - but not travel very far. This natural (and man-made) oasis is within walking distance.

Once home, sitting on the front porch this evening, we had a visitor. Cute as can be.

Things are kind of crazy at the moment and I feel like I have ignored my blog. Today I decided I was going to take a break and just BREATHE, and I'm so glad I did!

We all need to take a brake and just breath...thank you for your comment on my blog..You made me feel better...Thank you...
I love your pictures in this post...Why is it that are beautiful land is being marred by housing development...What will our grandchildren and there children have left? Certainly not what we grew up with...and that makes my heart sad...

Stopping in to say hello Sue! Enjoyed the photos. The bunny is so cute. I had one in my yard the other day and tried to take his photo but he hopped away too quickly. :-(
