I love fantasy as it
leaves everything to the imagination and gives one the freedom when creating to express this.
My inspiration often comes from antique bits of lace and/or
fabric, old photos, antique display items, found objects in nature. A lilting tune can also inspire me, as can other artists' works.
I live in a wonderfully quaint town approx. an hour
northeast of Toronto, Ontario with my hubby and our dog and cat. Both daughters have flown
the coop.
Hard to comment with my speakers not working but the visuals look good. I'm usually terrified when they make movies of my favorite books, especially classics from childhood. The CG people in the Polar Express were too creepy for my taste but I doubt there would be that problem with the Wild Things.
Can't wait. Was one of my kids favorite book, especially my youngest who really was a Wild Thing!! Now he's a slug..perhaps I should write about what happened to Max after he grew up!!! LOL
I love Maurice Sendak. We saw a production of the opera "Brundibar" at Yale, for which he designed the (absolutely astounding and remarkable) sets! It was magical to see his world come to life on stage that way!
Im sure Where the Wild Things Are will be delightful! Thanks for posting the trailer!

I think that it will be a great movie!
I loved to read that book to my son....
I think I had ever book he wrote back in the day...
Didn't he do Little Critter?
Pattee, I don't know if he did Little
Critter or not.
Apparently he has written and illustrated over 90 books, so that is quite possible.
Tristan, I just googled M.S. and Brundibar and saw some pics of the
opera production. Wow.
I have been waiting and waiting ever since I heard it was being made ... sighs ... can't come soon enough for me!
thanks for the trailer ... fed my soul just enough to keep me going. :)
